Season's Greetings

We have reached that point in the year where we cannot complete additional orders before Christmas, so we will focus on those orders we already have. New orders placed after 11/28 will be filled starting after 12/31. We have a significant backlog to work through and we plan to get them out before 12/20 if we possibly can.

Thanks again for your business and your patience.

Happy Holidays and safe launching from all of us here at Launcher City!

Pacificon 2010

Pacificon is fast approaching. We are shipping lots of launcher kits and preparing a special launcher for Pacificon. Only one of these new special high flow Piston Valve launchers will be available at the show. I am hoping to borrow a little table space from Buddipole to display this launcher. If not there I’ll see if the wife will share a bit of space at Dawn’s Cookie Lee Jewelry table.

This is the type of launcher I used this year on Field Day. It is a 17 inch launcher but it has more performance than a CSV19.  I have combined it with a special custom Mini Coaxial Reel that has a 4 inch barrel section built into it. This extends the barrel when the reel is installed and increases performance and efficiency with the high flow Piston valve.

This setup won’t quite fit in the regular tool case due to the length of the custom Mini Coaxial Reel’s barrel. But it fits nicely into a Pelican Case, so this is a really top of the line Antenna Lauching System. You can’t miss it in this bright Orange Pelican Case!!

This Launcher will be for sale. Just this one will be available. You can see a photo of my Piston Valve Launcher that I used on Field Day on our new www.akbeng.us test website in the Field Day article.

I will also make a launcher presentation at 9 AM on SATURDAY CHANGED TO SUNDAY and then changed BACK TO SATURDAY 9AM at the San Ramon room AND THEN CHANGED BACK TO SUNDAY in a DIFFERENT ROOM. I always add some new material to my presentations, this year I will do the basics and add info about the new Piston Valve launchers. I will also have my own Piston Valve Launcher for display.

Hope to see you there!!!

SORRY FOR ALL THE CONFUSION on the location/day. Next year it should be better. Pacificon will be in the South Bay, and hopefully the organization will be smoother. Thanks to those that attended and apologies to those that tried and missed.

Barrels Again

Periodically we have difficulty getting our special barrel material, and that happened just before Field Day this year. The supplier we had been using changed their computer system and seemed to lose the recipe for ordering this little used variety of pipe. After Field Day I put in another order and they found a batch for us. I don’t know if it will be a problem next time, but I ordered enough to do for quite a while.

Today we worked on cleaning up the pipe and making parts for kits. A bunch of orders will go out early next week. We will soon put barrel material back on the order page as it is no longer low on stock. We have enough for many launchers. Until next time…

We have a new discussion list that is getting some activity. If you have questions that is the place to go. One question we’d like to ask you is threaded versus cemented launchers. We are nearing the end of the batch of threaded valves and we’d like to hear from folks as to which type they prefer. Join us on the discussion list and let’s hear from you!
